MENA Drinking Water Conference – DW-MENA 2026

DW-MENA is a premier international forum bringing together researchers, water industry professionals, policymakers, and innovators to address the pressing challenges of drinking water quality across the MENA region.

From tap water quality to bottled and bulk water standards, DW-MENA 2026 will foster knowledge exchange and build collaborative frameworks for sustainable water management in an increasingly resource-stressed region.

Conference Pillars

Main Focus Areas

Water Quality

Assessment and monitoring of physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters affecting drinking water sources and distribution systems across the MENA region.

Micropollutants

Detection, quantification, and removal of emerging contaminants such as pharmaceuticals, endocrine-disrupting compounds, and microplastics in drinking water.

  • Promote collaboration among MENA countries to address shared water challenges
  • Discuss policy frameworks and regulatory approaches for sustainable water management
  • Showcase innovative technologies and best practices in water treatment and distribution
  • Address emerging contaminants and their impact on water quality and public health
  • Bridge the gap between scientific research and operational water management
Host Institution

CERTE

Water Research and Technologies Center (CERTE)

CERTE is a public research institution with approximately 90 permanent multidisciplinary researchers. Established in 2005 within the Technopark of Borj-Cédria, it operates under the supervision of the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Its main mission is to conduct research, development, innovation, and technological development activities in the field of water, and to transfer scientific results to socio-economic sectors. CERTE is highly active at national, Mediterranean, and international levels across the entire water cycle.

Partner Laboratory

LaDVEN Laboratory

Created in 2006, the LaDVEN laboratory complements CERTE's expertise in the water field. It was established at the request of the Rural Engineering Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and SONEDE.
